NSG Staff Make an Impact at Nashville Tech Council and Cisco Geekfest South
Last week was a busy one for NSG: Over four torrid days we had team members attend Cisco’s 2014 Geekfest South and the Nashville Technology Council (NTC) 2014 Annual Membership Meeting. Both events proved to be incredibly valuable for our staff, and helped forward our commitment to monitoring the latest developments in technology for our clients.
Geekfest: Last week, Cisco hosted some of the best and brightest engineers and system administrators in America for a two-day event known as Geekfest, held at the Country Music Hall of Fame. In addition to getting to meet and exchange ideas with colleagues, Geekfest featured a variety of Executive level speakers who discussed the future of Cisco’s strategic direction for the next several years.
After the keynote speeches gave way, NSG’s technical experts got the chance to roll up their sleeves with leading Cisco programmers on upcoming solution releases. These interactive sections were definitely not for the faint-of-heart, but gave our team invaluable insight into the future of VoIP, video conferencing and beyond!
NTC Annual Meeting: There was a buzz radiating from TPAC’s Polk Theater last Friday as 500 of Nashville’s technology leaders gathered to mingle, share and discuss the future of Nashville’s red-hot technology sector. As the lobby filled with members representing the entire gamut of employers, free-lancers and start-ups, special guest Steve Case was on hand to meet and greet those in attendance. Case, a co-founder former CEO of AOL, was in Nashville as part of his Rise of the Rest road trip, celebrating four emerging markets for innovation and entrepreneurship in the middle of America.
After Mr. Case capped his keynote talk with an insightful Q&A session for the crowd, NTC CEO Bryan Huddleston shared his excitement for especially innovative technology movements in Nashville. It was during this section that Mr. Huddleston honored us by mentioning NSG, and our security expert Alex Berta, as an outstanding example of the local technology scene continuing to pick-up momentum.
